Canadian companies with 20+ years of dividend raises

TSX companies that have raised their dividend every year for at least two decades.

General information, not financial advice. No prices or yields on this page: those change every day and live in the app.

Raising a dividend every year for twenty years means doing it through the 2008-2009 financial crisis, the 2015 and 2020 oil crashes, and the pandemic. Only a small group of large Canadian companies has done that. Long-term dividend investors often follow these streaks because a long record of raises shows how a company's board has treated the dividend through good years and bad. It doesn't promise anything about the future. This list covers companies with a raise streak of 20 years or more, checked against the company's own reports or, where noted, other published sources. Some readers know this group as “Canadian dividend aristocrats” (the S&P/TSX index of that name has its own rules and isn't the same list). Companies with 50+ years are sometimes called “dividend kings”: on this list, that's Canadian Utilities and Fortis.

How to read this page. Companies are listed alphabetically. The streak is consecutive years of a higher annual dividend, by the company's own count.

Not on this list yet: Metro (MRU) and Saputo (SAP). The app shows 30 and 25 years, but we didn't find the count in the companies' own reports, and other sources disagree (Metro: 19, 27 or 32).
